The Nomad, London Wedding Photographer | Poppy + Robert
I always love a trip to London and it was great to be back for Poppy and Robert’s two-day winter wedding, capturing their celebrations for a couple of days. The city was full of festive cheer in the cosy days leading up to Christmas, and the atmosphere felt extra special. On Friday morning, I joined them as they got ready together at The NoMad Hotel in Covent Garden, which was so nice, as it brought such a relaxed and intimate start to the day. They then hopped into a taxi to Chelsea Old Town Hall on King’s Road, where a small group of close family and friends gathered for their heartfelt ceremony. After exchanging their vows, they took a short stroll to one of their favourite restaurants, Medlar, to continue the celebrations.
Getting ready together at The NoMad Hotel
It was a relaxed and fun morning with Poppy and Robert as they got ready together in their suite at The NoMad—the perfect start to their wedding weekend. Nestled inside a Grade II listed building that once served as the Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station, The NoMad was also named one of the World’s 50 Best Hotels. The interior takes inspiration from a well-travelled New Yorker’s apartment, with cosy touches and artwork that pull it all together. It’s a wonderful space where you can not only stay, but also celebrate.
Wedding ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall
Poppy and Robert then headed across London in a black cab to Chelsea Old Town Hall, where they caught up with their guests in the waiting area before being ushered in for the ceremony. With her mother by her side, Poppy gracefully walked down the aisle while her brother proudly took on the role of ring bearer. The intimate ceremony was filled with joy and plenty of laughter and afterwards, everyone gathered on the steps outside as Poppy and Robert were announced—as the confetti burst into the air.
Reception and lunch at Medlar
Following the group photos, everyone headed down King's Road to Medlar Restaurant. Poppy and Robert took a few moments to enjoy the stroll together, stopping for some relaxed portraits along the way. I truly believe those in-between moments are just as important to capture as the big events. By the time we arrived at Medlar, guests were already gathered upstairs in the private dining room, with wine and fizz flowing. Poppy and Robert each delivered speeches that were both funny and heartfelt as they thanked their guests. Afterwards, I left them to enjoy their meal and planned to catch up with them on Saturday for the party, back at Medlar.
Here are some photos from Friday, more from Saturday follows after the first set of images.

Back to The NoMad
I rejoined Poppy and Robert on Saturday afternoon in their suite at The NoMad, where a few more friends and family were gathering to get ready for the evening celebrations. Spread over two levels, the suite offered the perfect space to prepare and socialise. Poppy got ready upstairs while Robert relaxed in the downstairs living area with a few mates, enjoying a couple of beers. Once she was all set and looking fabulous in her Taller Marmo dress, Poppy made her way downstairs to ensure everything was in order before they both warmly welcomed their guests for the evening celebrations.
Wedding party at The NoMad
Originally the Magistrates’ Courtroom, this space has been transformed into The Magistrates Ballroom, featuring an atmospheric mural by Claire Basler that adds incredible depth, as seen in the dancing photos. With two adjoining rooms and a private bar, it’s a versatile space that can be used to entertain a lively cocktail party and dancefloor, or even be set up as a dining room for your entire wedding celebration.
Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés before moving into the ballroom. It wasn’t long before the trumpets sounded and the fantastic band, Brassienda, stepped in to announce Poppy and Robert’s grand entrance. Taking to the stage with the band behind them, the couple delivered a hilarious joint speech before heading to the dancefloor, sparking an unforgettable night of dancing. Here are some photos from the second day—enjoy!
