Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photographer | Penny + Douglas
I was looking forward to capturing Penny and Doug’s special day at Pembroke Lodge since they booked me as their wedding photographer over a year earlier. I spent the morning photographing Penny and her bridesmaids getting ready at her home before heading over to Richmond Park, where the wonderful setting of Pembroke Lodge is located.
The Belvedere Suite in Pembroke Lodge is the perfect setting for a wedding all year round, especially in spring and summer. A large skylight allows beautiful, natural light throughout the space and the Terrace outside is perfect for afternoon and early evening canapes and drinks. Following the ceremony and epic confetti line exit, guests mingled and gave their best wishes to the newlyweds while enjoying some lovely music from the live band.
I like to let everyone relax and enjoy a bit of time together before going into the group photos, as these can be some of the happiest, natural moments of the day. We then worked through the group shots before I grabbed Penny and Doug for about 15 minutes for a relaxed walk together through the grounds outside of Pembroke Lodge.
It was then time to call the bride and groom back into The Belvedere Suite for the meals, followed by the speeches. After some touching and funny speeches, the room was transformed again for the DJ and dancing. There was no first dance, but that didn't stop the dancefloor from being packed.
