Clissold House Wedding Photographer | Millie + Josh
Millie and Josh showed their family and friends what the city they love (and fell in love in) means to them — sharing the food, the journeys and the parts of London they love to hang out in and which means so much to them. Following bridal prep, where Millie and her family got ready, I made the short trip to Clissold House in Stoke Newington as guests began arriving.
Clissold House is a beautifully restored eighteenth-century mansion featuring a striking spiral staircase, large windows and magnificent pillars at the front. The ceremony occurred in the intimate Church Room, in the presence of their closest family and friends. Millie looked fantastic in a tailored mini-dress by Self Portrait and J’Adior Slingback heels by Dior. After the ceremony and group shots, guests headed to the nearby Rose & Crown pub for drinks. Millie and Josh went for a short walk through the park and onto the pub as I captured some very relaxed photos of the two of them.
Following some swift drinks in the pub, everybody jumped onto two busses for the trip towards Shoreditch and walked the remaining part through the back alleys to Manteca Restaurant - one of Millie and Josh’s favourite restaurants. When I asked them what they were most looking forward to on the day - their answer was the FOOD! And being fortunate enough to have some, I see what they meant - the food was excellent. The meals and speeches took place on two rows of tables in the cosy basement, surrounded by a glass-walled hanging cabinet displaying the range of meats being cured on-site. The drinks flowed, and everyone was having a great time, but before long, it was time for Millie to replace the Dior heels with some white Nike Airs.
The final leg of the journey was a short trip to the evening reception at The Gun in Spitalfields, where another 30 or so guests were waiting for a friendly gathering in the pub. Here are a few images I made that day.
