London Rowing Club Wedding Photographer | Liz + Rob
It was amazing to be back in London to photograph Liz and Rob’s special day, which was also my first wedding of 2023.
I spent a few hours in the morning with Liz and her family and the bridal party as they got ready nearby for the special day ahead. I then made the short trip over the bridge to St. Mary’s Church in Putney, to capture their beautiful ceremony. The church is stunning with large stained-glass windows that look out towards Putney Bridge and a balcony which photographers are able to capture some good scene-setting shots from.
Following the ceremony and the confetti exit the entire wedding party made the short trip along the Thames path towards London Rowing Club in Putney. The theme at the reception was a nod to Liz and Rob’s love of cycling and the many epic journeys they had been on together.
After the group photos and a brief shower, the sun came out again, so Liz and Rob took a short walk alongside the Thames whilst I followed, to capture some very relaxed pictures of them in one of their favourite parts of London. The speeches were split before and after the meal with Liz and her father making speeches before and Rob and Best Man Alex making theirs later. Then as the room was turned around for the band and the dancing to come, guests made their way outside onto the balcony for sparklers followed by coffee and cocktails or a mixture of the two. The happy couple then cut their cupcake tower and guests then gathered for the first dance. And now it was Rob’s turn to make an entrance on his bike as Queen’s ‘Bicycle Race’ got the first dance started.
