The Landmark Arts Centre Wedding Photographer | Kate + James

Twickenham wedding photographer

It was a pleasure to photograph the wedding of Kate and James, who were married at the Church of St. James – a stunning, gothic Roman Catholic church in Twickenham. Following the ceremony, we dashed down to The Italian Fountain in Twickenham for the group photos and some very relaxed portraits. The rain would not prevent Kate and James from enjoying a quiet moment together, so I captured a few shots of them.

Kate and James chose The Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington for their reception, a hugely impressive and unique gothic cathedral. The decorations had a nod to The Great Gatsby and their mutual love of sports. Following welcome drinks and the wedding breakfast, Ushers Stu and Graham were on hand to offer IT support, setting up long-distance Zoom calls to Russia and Australia – for the Best Man and the Maid of Honour speeches from James’ brother Toby and Kate’s sister Ruth.

Kate and James were most excited about being together with friends and family after a challenging year for everyone with the pandemic.

They wanted it to be the best day possible, not just for them but everyone in attendance – and they certainly succeeded. The evening kicked off with some brilliant comedy, organised by Kate, a Comedy Agent, and guests then had a great time well into the evening on the impressive dance floor.

It was so great to be able to capture these photos for Kate and James, and it was so lovely to get positive feedback too. I always try to tell the day's unique story as it happened. I don’t try and plan shots or have pre-planned ideas of what I will get beforehand; I observe and take pictures of what is unfolding. These authentic moments will hopefully become more precious as time passes. I try to have as little influence on your day as possible – your wedding day should not feel like a photo shoot, but I’ll work with you leading up to the wedding to plan any group shots and some relaxed portraits as I do understand the importance these photos may have too.

These are wonderful! Thank you so much for capturing our special day, including the weather! Love those glassy street shots!
