Liverpool Town Hall Wedding Photographer | Jessica + Michael

It was a joy to capture Jessica and Michael’s wedding in their hometown of Liverpool, which began at their home and finished with a celebration at Down The Hatch, a vegan restaurant and bar on Duke Street. And of course via their big moment at Liverpool Town Hall for the wedding!

Bridal preparations at home

Jessica and Michael spent the early part of the morning together at their home before Michael made his way over to his mum’s to finish getting ready. Jessica did her makeup and hair with her bridesmaids, alongside her mum and dad. It was lovely to capture the morning prep in Jessica’s home as many personal touches could be captured, and as the house, no doubt changes over the coming years, they will be able to look back on these images and see how their home looked, the day they were married.

A city-centre wedding at Liverpool Town Hall

The ceremony took place at Liverpool Town Hall, a breathtaking Grade I listed building nestled in the heart of Liverpool’s city centre. With elegant Georgian architecture and a grand sweeping staircase, it’s a stunning location with various options for couples looking to get married in Liverpool city centre. With two reception rooms for more intimate ceremonies with up to 70 guests, and a main ballroom and a smaller ballroom for bigger numbers. Following the ceremony we had a few moments to capture group photos outside the reception rooms and some relaxed shots of the happy couple heading to their reception in a VW Camper Van. After a short trip across the city, we found ourselves outside Cherub Club Tattoo Parlour - Jessica and Michael’s favourite tattoo place, where we made a few wedding portraits on the nearby streets before a memorable confetti moment outside Down The Hatch.

An intimate celebration at Down The Hatch

We headed downstairs to one of the cosiest settings I’ve seen for a wedding, and the drinks began flowing immediately. Jessica and Michael had assembled a special menu of cocktails for the drinks reception, adding their personal touch to the festivities.

After enjoying the meal, it was time for the speeches. Some were straight from the heart, while others had a bit more bite! Groom Michael’s touching speech to Jessica, brought tears to her eyes. Then came Jessica and Michael’s intimate first dance, a wonderful moment to witness ahead of the evening fun.

If you’re planning a city-centre wedding in Liverpool or even at Liverpool Town Hall and you love these images, and you’re looking for a Liverpool wedding photographer who captures moments without any awkward posing, get in touch here! I’d love to chat and hear all about your plans.
