Wedding Photography | Best of 2023

This is the first time I’ve ever put together a ‘Best of’ blog post and I’ve really enjoyed looking back and reflecting on all the amazing weddings I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of this year. Although I’ve been shooting weddings for a few years, this was the year that I left the day job behind to become a full-time photographer and shot more weddings than I have in previous years.

It is the best job and I’m so fortunate to have been trusted by so many amazing couples to do my thing and capture their special day as a documentary wedding photographer - which basically means I capture things as they happen, rather than setting photos up, except a few relaxed portraits with the couple and any group photos. I approach each day with an open mind and aim to seek out the things happening around the wedding, beyond the obvious.

I’ve also continued to invest in myself over the last year to develop and grow, by attending some workshops, including, Alan Law’s ‘Law School’ and the Nine Dots Gathering in Leeds. I also made it into the ‘This is Reportage’ list of the ‘Top 100 Photographers In The World 2023’, which celebrates the best in documentary wedding photography, something I’m very proud of and can’t quite believe!

So here are a few of my favourites from 2023, I hope you enjoy! I can’t wait for 2024 and look forward to capturing more special memories for my happy couples.
